The statutory minimum wage in 2026
Since 1 January 2026 the statutory minimum wage is 13.90 euros gross per hour, 78 cents more than in 2025. For a full-time position that works out at roughly 2,343 euros gross per month. On 1 January 2027 it rises again to 14.60 euros.
Mini-job: the 603 euro earnings limit
The mini-job earnings limit is tied to the minimum wage. In 2026 it stands at 603 euros per month, or 7,236 euros per year. Earn more than that and you move into midi-job territory, which starts at 603.01 euros. In 2027 the limit rises to 633 euros.
Temporary agency work: what the AÜG requires
Supplying temporary staff to another company generally requires a permit from the Federal Employment Agency. The same temporary worker may not be assigned to the same hirer for more than 18 consecutive months. On equal pay: a collective agreement may depart from the equal pay principle for the first nine months, but after 15 months at the latest the wage set in the collective agreement, matching the sector level, must be reached.
